I learned a valuable lesson last night.  Sleep while Ang is sleeping!!  Ang fell asleep around 8:30 last night and I thought it would be nice to catch up on some bible (I am going through Job) and to read some more TBI information.  I was caught up in the peace and quiet and didn’t want to pass up the opportunity.  She slept until about 11 and I had not gone to sleep yet.  Once Ang woke up she was busying herself with trying to push out of bed, counting, reading, and yelling.  She finally got some pain medicine around 2am and went to sleep for a couple more hours.  I did not miss my opportunity to capitalize on her sleeping the second time around!  It appears that her sleep cycle is starting to fall back into place.  She takes shorter naps during the day and sleeps for longer periods of time at night.  Nonetheless, it is still exhausting.  Her left leg was also moving around more during the night.

Par for the course thus far, today was another amazing day to behold.  It was another busy day full of PT, OT, and ST.  Ang passed her eating test and was approved by the ST and doctor for “mechanical solids”, meaning food that is chopped up already.  Think soft foods like pasta or ground meat, etc.  She had a few bites during the test and decided that she didn’t like it, reminding us all of a couple of scenes from animal house.  We had some cleaning to do around her room to say the least.  She also indicated that she was marginally impressed with the speech therapist and said that he was “irritating” after he left.  Too funny…  Physical therapy went great.  Ang had no problems being around a lot of people and activities again.  The worked with the E-therapy again and Ang worked hard to keep her left leg raised.  Mom and I and the therapist were there to cheer her on the entire way.  She continued to raise her leg even after the short duration of electrical current had subsided!  They had her stand again, this time twice.  She practically launched herself out of her chair to give me a squeeze and a kiss.  It was awesome!  She continues to support more of her own weight and to find her balance.  OT was a bit of a different story.  Man did I feel bad for that guy today.  I told him that he might want to invest in some riot gear.  Angela gave him a beating while he was working with her.  Biting, punching, scratching..  I guess she doesn’t like people messing around with her arm much.  Then again, if we had fractured our arm in 4 places and had an erector set holding it all together I am fairly certain we would have the same sentiment.

Teresa and I worked with her during the day, reviewing pictures, math equations, and even some connect the dots exercises.  She did great on all fronts.  So much happens every day that I am certain I am only skimming the surface regarding her progress, but she is tough to keep up with.

My love for my wife deepens every day.  To see her work so hard to overcome her physical injuries and to lift the fog that has resulted from her head injury is the most inspiring thing that I have ever seen.

Choose to see the good that God is doing in and through Angela every day.

Much Love-

Josh
