We did outwit her just a tiny bit. She was moved to a different bed that is very low to ground and sits against the wall. If we put the bed one way we are in the direct path of the flailing leg....so we turned the bed around...a much more peaceful meal event.... Feels a tiny of satisfactio
Today all kinds of people visited from the hospital. Everyone is moving towards discharging her to the next BIG event. We just do not know what the next big event will be. Will she go to rehab???? Will she go to a skilled nursing facility? Will she go to the neurologica
I did get surprised today when she read one of her cards out loud. The card says: Hope you get well. We are praying for you. Ang said "we are praying for you" over and over. Most of the day she was mimicing whatever she heard. Later in the day, she read the sign over her bed that tells us what to do about the posterior foot splint. It was a bit odd to hear your child pop out with 'posterior foot splint.'
I am headed home to bed. Last night she pulled out her IV and after two attempts to reinsert it, I asked what a Mom has to do to make the sticking stop. The nurse said, "push fluids so she voids." Up I sat spooning liquids into her AND WE WERE SUCCESSFUL. No IV had to be reinserted. Hallelujah.
Let's hope for a more restful night tonight. Thanks all.
