Last night was relatively peaceful for Ang and I.  She got at least 6 hours of good sleep.  We had a lazy morning and got Ang a shower and helped her get dressed for her “spa day”.

Back to the memory issue.  (Jody- Thanks for the input.  We will keep that in mind.  It is really hard not to push her when you see signs of connections to the past.  We have to work to remember that her recovery is at her pace, not ours.) Yesterday and today were big days.  Ang remembered a few past events.  I showed her a picture and she knew that it was from the 4th of July at Amgen a couple of years back.  She even remembered the present that she got me for my 30th birthday.  Also, her manager from work came to visit her today.  She jumped right into a conversation with him about the current project that she was working on.  We also found out that many of the random words that she has been saying are work related.  She is too smart for us so her science lingo often sounds like a foreign language.  It appears that things are starting to come back slowly but surely.  Her short-term memory is also improving.  She recalls the names of the staff at the SNF and is doing much better with her daily orientation questions.

Ang had a wonderful spa day today.  She had her makeup done and her nails too.  Thank you so much Shauna!  I know that it made a huge difference for her.  We love you Applins!

Ang is definitely beginning to have a tough time with the fact that she is hurt. She apologized several times today, which breaks my heart.  But- she is crying more and it is good to see her grieve.  She was very sweet today and her actions and conversations are becoming more aligned to what we would typically expect from her.  She can tell you all of her injuries and even the medication that she had to take.  She was busy showing off her new scars to her visitors today.

Please be in prayer that her memory will continue to improve and that she will continue to on her current course.  Next big hurdle is getting that left hand and arm working.

Zalynn-  We are praying for you too.  You are an amazing woman and although I have never actually met you I wanted to know how much love I have for you.

“Much Love- 24/7”
